The statement of the transport minister not to curtail the fares of KSRTC amounts to hold the passengers to ransom for the grave mismanagement of this department. Further, such a move will equally benefit the private bus operators besides taxi and auto, who are otherwise making an amazing profit. Ostensibly, a mechanism should have been devised by the government to bring down the fares/prices exactly the way it has been hiked due to inevitability. Since the price of the fuel has gone down considerably, please see that the fares of the KSRTC is reduced. Elsewise, it is presumed that the very intention of the government is to fleece the people on all available opportunities.
